The ladle turret is a common equipment used in modern continuous casting to carry and support the ladle for pouring. It is usually set between the molten steel receiving span and the pouring span column.

The designed ladle rotation radius makes the ladle nozzle at the specified position above the tundish when pouring steel. The ladle is placed on the turntable with a crane on one side of the molten steel receiving span, and the ladle is rotated through the turntable to stop the ladle above the tundish to supply the molten steel. The empty ladle after pouring is rotated through the turntable, and then transported back to the molten steel receiving span.

       The ladle turntable is one of the key equipment of the continuous casting machine, which plays an important role in connecting the upper and lower processes. The rotation of the ladle turret basically includes three situations: no ladle on both sides, ladle on one side, and ladle on both sides, and the weight of a single ladle has exceeded 140 tons. In the three cases, the force of the ladle turret is very different, but in any case, it is necessary to ensure that the ladle turret rotates smoothly and the positioning is accurate, and the impact on the mechanical part should be minimized when starting and stopping. In order to reduce the liquid level fluctuation and temperature drop of the tundish, the rotation time should be shortened. Therefore, we leave room for the selection of the inverter's capacity, that is, one step higher than the motor power. At the same time, use the s-curve acceleration function of the inverter to ensure smooth and fast acceleration and deceleration curves by adjusting the s-curve, reduce the impact on the reducer, and then use the PLC to determine the speed limit and stop limit to realize the high and low speed automatic conversion and in place during the rotation process Stopping, while meeting the requirements for rotation time and smooth operation.
